Robert O. Carr
Robert (Bob) Carr is the Chairman of North Signal Capital. Previously, he was Vice Chairman of Development at Carr Properties, a $2 Billion private REIT focused on ownership, acquisition, and development of high-quality office properties in the greater Washington, D.C. area. Mr. Carr has 43 years of experience in the Real Estate industry, and has held leadership roles in three companies, two of which he founded. He rose to the position of President and CEO of the private Oliver T. Carr Co., of which his father was Chairman. This firm for decades was the leading developer of prominent, mixed use projects in Downtown Washington, D.C. It was the predecessor company to the CarrAmerica national REIT, where Mr. Carr led a newly created Development company – CarrAmerica Urban Development – where he maintained the tradition of building major Downtown, D.C. projects containing several uses – office, residential, museums, and theaters. When CarrAmerica was sold, he left and formed a new Development and Operations Company – Carr Realty Partners – which he soon merged with Carr Properties. There he led the development team, finally as Vice-Chairman of Development, and oversaw the creation of several new, important Downtown buildings, culminating in his generation of the development plan for the ongoing, 875,000 square feet Fannie Mae Headquarters project. Mr. Carr retired from Carr Properties on Feb 1, 2016.
Over his 43 year career Mr. Carr oversaw the development of 46 projects, totaling over 11 million square feet, in Downtown Washington, D.C., and primarily in the close-in Metro-oriented neighborhoods of Alexandria, VA; Arlington, VA.; and Bethesda, MD. Notable projects have been the Willard Hotel and Office Building; the Newseum on Pennsylvania Ave.; Terrell Place, including the Harmon Center for the Arts; and Metro Center, which included two office buildings, a hotel, and the Hecht’s department store.
Mr. Carr received his Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College in 1971. Additionally, Mr. Carr has engaged in graduate study in accounting, financial analysis, and urban planning at both George Washington University and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
CJ Carey, CFA, CPA
Christopher (CJ) Carey Jr. is a financial professional with significant investment, operations, and accounting expertise. Previously, Mr. Carey was Senior Vice President and Head of Operational Due Diligence at The Rock Creek Group LP, a $10 billion alternative investment management and advisory firm. While at Rock Creek, Mr. Carey was instrumental in the formation and ongoing development of the firm’s due diligence strategy and investment underwriting process. CJ led due diligence efforts on more than 500 private equity and hedge fund managers, while overseeing more than 100 active investments representing the interests of a 100% institutional investor base. Prior to joining Rock Creek in 2008, Mr. Carey was an Audit Manager at KPMG LLP with a focus on public and private real estate ownership groups, management companies, and private equity funds.
Mr. Carey graduated from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003, earning B.S. degrees in both Accounting and Finance.
Peter Goulding, CFA
Peter Goulding brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services as a corporate development / strategic planning executive, Financials focused institutional equity investor, institutional credit / distressed debt investor and investment banker. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning practice at People’s United Bank. At People’s he led acquisitions of banks and specialty finance firms with more than $7BN of assets. In addition, he supported an active share repurchase program, which totaled approximately 25 percent of current market capitalization, valued at more than $1BN. Peter also helped to lead strategic shifts towards: organic growth; commercial deposit gathering; fee income businesses; enterprise wide sales force effectiveness tools and governance. Prior to joining People’s in 2009, Mr. Goulding held positions at leading investment and financial institutions, including WL Ross, Copper Arch Capital, TQA Investors, Merrill Lynch, and Chase Securities (now JPMorgan Chase).
Mr. Goulding earned an MBA from University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Management in 2004 and a BA in Economics from Tufts University in 1996.
Christopher J. Carey is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of City National Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Carey is also on the boards of RBC USA Holdco Corporation, the $142 billion asset holding corporation for Royal Bank of Canada's U.S. operations and Matthews International Capital Management, LLC, the advisor to Matthews Asia Funds, which had $26.4 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2016.
Mr. Carey has 30 years of experience as a finance executive in the banking industry. He joined City National in July 2004 from Cincinnati-based Provident Financial Group, Inc., where he had been executive vice president and CFO since 1998. Before that, he was the CFO of CoreStates Bank in Philadelphia. He also worked as an accounting manager at AEL Industries, Inc., a publicly held manufacturing company in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and at the Philadelphia offices of Price Waterhouse.
In addition, Mr. Carey is on the board of directors of BrightLine, a leading provider of interactive television marketing services and is a member of the finance committee of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation. He also is active with the United Way of Greater Los Angeles and serves on the organization's board of directors, as well as on the L.A. Business Leaders Task Force on Homelessness.
Mr. Carey earned a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University in 1976.

Bradford (Brad) Kopp has over 30 years of experience managing and advising banks. He is currently a Board member at TGR Financial / First Florida Integrity Bank (Naples, FL) representing Lightyear Capital (financials services focused private equity firm with over $2.5BN of capital raised since 2000). He is also an Advisory board member at J.P. Marvel Investment Advisors (Boston, MA), a privately held wealth management company. In 2013, Mr. Kopp served as a senior advisor to Lightyear Capital evaluating all aspects of the firm's investments in five community banks. Prior to that Mr. Kopp was CEO and Board member of Bank of Butterfield & Son from 2009 to 2012. Bank of Butterfield is a publicly traded bank with operations in Bermuda, Cayman, Guernsey, London, the Bahamas and Switzerland. In March 2010, Mr. Kopp led a recapitalization of the company whereby a CIBC consortium invested $420 million in common equity for a 62% ownership position. Prior to that, Mr. Kopp spent 16 years at RBS Americas / Citizens Bank where he played a central role in growing Citizens from a $5BN in assets Rhode Island based bank to a $150BN super regional bank, ranked tenth in the US by assets and deposits. His time there included eight years as Chief Financial Officer and other concurrent roles included 14 years supervising Strategic Planning and Acquisitions as well as six years overseeing the Wealth Management business unit.
Mr. Kopp earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1977 and graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 1973.

Joe Ehrlich is an seasoned real estate executive with broad experience across multiple property types. Mr. Ehrlich has served as a consultant to Starwood Capital Group since 2010 where he held responsibility as the lead portfolio manager for a pool of non-performing loans and REO properties. Prior to his work with Starwood, Joe was a Manager in the Transaction Real Estate group at Ernst & Young and before that Mr. Ehrlich was an Associate Equity Research Analyst for the REIT team at BB&T Capital Markets.
Mr. Ehrlich graduated magna cum laude from the Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics at Washington & Lee University in 2004. While at Washington & Lee University, Mr. Ehrlich was a four year recipient of a full scholarship.
